PRESIDENTS REPORT. 17/8/09
Firstly I would like to Thank all of the North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club Committee Members and all Other volunteers for all their assistance in helping to set up and run The North Brisbane Cup Meeting. A special thanks also to those companies who helped by Sponsoring a Race Class, providing us with valuable donations enabling us to hold such an Event. The day night meeting went well despite being cut short by a round due to a Time / Noise Curfew, which the club has to abide by. Next year we will be considering reformatting the classes and possibly starting the meeting earlier in the day to prevent cutting the racing short. Rider numbers were down on previous years which resulted in the Junior Team challenge race being cancelled however they did have a 10 lap dash for cash event to make it interesting. Thoughts of having an 85cc junior challenge might be considered for our younger riders, we as a club are open to suggestion from its members on any ways of improving race meetings or general club issues. It is getting towards the end of our racing season with only a couple more club days to be held at North Brisbane but in the off season we will try to fit in regular practice days to keep them bikes running and riders keen. **NBJMCC END OF YEAR TROPHIE PRESENTATION NIGHT / CHRISTMAS PARTY** is not far away tickets will be available at our next club day or you can contact Felicity by Emailing~ tskiwi@optusnet.com.au with any questions or ideas for the evening. Keep an eye on the club web site for further info coming soon.
Remember this club runs on your help and support as a volunteer so please help out wherever possible. I know you are probably thinking. But we pay our membership fee and we pay to ride each time, well Hello so does everyone else from the President down there is no freebies or charity cases. The fact is some individuals and families do a hell of a lot so their child and yours can turn up and ride. So lets all pitch in to make life easier. Yet again Division 1 riders/parents have arisen with more problems and as a Parent and someone involved in so many other club issues my self along with other committee members we are getting sick and tired of this problem. So if it cannot be sorted out by our next club day these riders (the future of our sport) may no longer be riding. So for those Parents of Div 1 riders here are the plain Facts and my Solution. Firstly Read the Rule Book. This Class of Bike MUST NOT BE MODIFIED. Surely that’s not hard to understand. NBJMCC solution is if you don’t apply to the GCRs your Div 1 rider will no longer take part at our clubs race events. And I will put this back onto all Div 1 riders Parents to ENFORCE, that is if you notice a Div 1 bike that does not comply with the Rule Book refer this matter to an official there and then and appropriate action will be taken and if found not to be compliant that rider and parents will be asked to pack up and cease riding immediately for the rest of that race meeting with no second chances. However, you will be allowed back to the next race day if the bike complies.
On a Positive note ~ Be Happy. Ride Hard.
Cheers Tony.
