Parent/Volunteer Involvment
As with all Clubs, the success of our Club depends on the involvment and commitment of our volunteers. (That is YOU as a parent/guardian or helper).
Every position of this club is a voluntary position and at times a thankless job, BUT we are all here for the same reason, and that is to watch members of our family enjoy riding in a safe and controlled environment.
To do this it takes a lot of work on the day and behind the scenes, every family that signs on is expected to write down a family volunteer representative for 1 job throughout the day.
As of Club Day 1 2010 there will be a volunteer list at the sign on table, every family that signs on is expected to write down a family volunteer representative for 1 job throughout the day.
If everyone just does a little bit to help, the day will run a lot smoother and we will endeavor to get 5 rounds of racing in. (NO VOLUNTEERS - NO RACING).
We may not require the full quota of volunteers each club day, But we will be keeping a record of who has done their share each club day, so the same people won't be doing twice as much as someone else.
WE THANKYOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOU CO-OPERATION IN THIS MATTER. HAPPY RACING!!
TRACK VOLUNTEERS / FLAG MARSHALS
If a rider comes down on the track nearest to your flag point you must insure that the rest of the feild of riders is notified ASAP by the means of the YELLOW or RED flag. This will then allow your buddy flag marshal to enter the track with caution to check on the fallen rider. The rider should not be moved or touched.
** DO NOT MOVE OR TOUCH FALLEN RIDER**
this includes the removal of goggles and or helmet unless the rider is able to do this under his own action. There is always the fear of spinal injuries, so THINK!! If that was YOUR child lying on the ground would you want someone else moving them risking further injuries.
Officials will attend all fallen riders ASAP or if required the Ambulance personnel will attend, so please take instruction from these people if asked.
CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
For Riders:
Never argue with an official - they are volunteers and decisions hace to be made based on what they see.
* Treat all other riders as you expect to be treated.
* Be a good sport - congratulate others on their efforts.
* Control your temper - Avoid use of derogatory language.
* Enjoy riding your bike, do your best, but do it for you no anyone else.
For Parents:
Children do this sport for their enjoyment, not yours
* Encourage your child to participate, but do not force them.
* Focus on your childs efforts and performance rather than winning or losing - do not ridicule your child for making a mistake or not winning.
* Respect official's decisions and teach your child to do likewise.
* Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from your club - Avoid use of derogatory language.
* Set an example - your behavior and comments should be positive and supportive.
SMOKING & FOOTWEAR & ALCOHOL
It is a rule set down by MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA that there is to be NO SMOKING, NO OPEN FOOTWEAR & NO ALCOHOL in the pits. (This includes unopened alcoholic drinks) There are penalities for ignoring this rule! You will be asked ONCE to leave the pit area, if caught again more serious consequences will apply.
OFFICIALS:
This club is in desperate need of more people becoming accredited officials. We only have 3 or 4 members who are qualified to run a race meeting. It is as easy as doing a weekend course, which is put on by MQ, they hold "Generic" part of the course on the saturday and the Specialized Officials course on the sunday. For e.g. Sunday could be Clerk of Course/Steward, it is an open book test after a day of classroom theory. (And it's FREE!! They even feed you!!) See Tony if your interested and he will let you know the dates.
END OF YEAR TROPHIES:
To be Eligible to receive an end of year trophy each rider must compete in a MINIMUM of 5 club days throughout the 2009 calender.
SPONSORSHIP
Opportunities for sponsership will be available e.g. Section of the racetrack wall will be sold off at $150 per panel for the year (Art work/signage at your own expense). Any donations for Raffles etc.. Will be greatly appreciated and the Donating Company/Family will get free advertising in the newsletter and a plug at presentation. All monies raised go towards the running of the club.
